SERVICE TO OTHERS IS THE BEST WORK OF LIFE
DUCKY DERBY
Yes, it's that time of year again. We just came off a project that used a lot of time, effort and money and now we get to work on a project that sees us in partnership with our sister morning club.
We have rewritten the contract between our two clubs so the manpower commitment is more equitable, and the money distribution for the silent auction is divided fairly. But we still have work to do.
The overall chair is Rick Nelson from the morning club [their immediate past president]. John B., Liz, Shannon, Joyce, David and Bill have already said they would be involved. Right now we are looking for volunteers to oversee our club's ticket sales; and, to head cash sponsor solicitations.
The nice thing is that much of this work is pretty straight forward as the event has been running for 20 years.
PLUS ONE
Our club's Foundation chair, Scott [below right] presents Paul Harris Foundation Fellowship Plus Oneawards to Steve and his wife, Ana, [below left and center] at our last meeting. "Plus One" indicates an additional $1000 of giving to Rotary International Foundation and can be distinguished by a sapphire stone in the Paul Harris pin.
