SERVICE TO OTHERS IS THE BEST WORK OF LIFE

DUCKY DERBY

TICKET SALES

Special thanks to Christy, Scott, and David for braving the cold last Saturday to sell DD tickets for our club. This is a big fund raiser for us.  Will let you know when more sales dates open up for us.

Volunteer Fair
Fabio, Jack, and Denise [pictured here, Vickie was off walking somewhere] represented our club at the Douglas County volunteer fair last Saturday.  They got to tell people how great we are and that they should join our club.  A few DD tickets were sold, too.  They got to stay warm.

               District Conference
April 27
The District Conference is a one day event this year and is being held at the Arvada Event Center.
Registration is online at:  Rotary5450.org.  The District Conference is the end-of-year event where our clubs get together and celebrate our achievements.
We will have a display in the Hall of Service highlighting Steve's efforts with the Navajos.
If nothing else, you can get the feeling of just how much larger Rotary is than just what our club does.
Our club allows $50 per member per year to attend any Rotary function.  Scott, John and Joyce are attending and would love to car pool.

Homebuilders Update
Beth Forbes, center, gave us an update from Homebuilders Foundation as to their activities in Douglas County.  HF modifies homes for disabled citizens to make life easier for them.  HF was our designated beneficiary for our Cornhole Tournament.  Beth gave a special thanks to Lin, on right, for all the effort she put into the tournament fund raiser.  Our foundation was able to give HF $3000 out of the nearly $9000 profit.  Pretty special.

Social
This month's social is at Beau Thai 2,  1341 New Beal Street.  [Just north of Lowes]. As usual the club will pay for appetizers, members pay for drinks [and meals if desired].  Hopefully our faculty advisor for our new Interact club , Josh Thrall, will be there.   Thanks to Les for setting this up.

Transition Dinner
Denise and Mike Frasier have graciously consented to having our transition dinner at their home.  However, they will be gone the last two weeks of June, so we are looking at July 6 [or June 15 if Vickie wants to take over early].  Please give me feedback on this date or possible alternatives.
